One thing that I find interesting about the work that I do is that it is so heavily impacted by politics and rules and regulations that are put into place by different school boards and my colleagues are not informed of these changes whatsoever.

Hi! I am a human resources specialist. I have been approached by one of my clients to review her company’s new employee aptitude test and provide feedback on the effectiveness of the test.
In this blog post, I am going to share my thoughts on this topic for anyone that is interested in learning more about the old-fashioned way of seeing how qualified people are for certain jobs.

Instead, I find that lots of my colleagues are not familiar with recent legislation, particularly the legislation focused on education and schools. I think to address that deficiency it would be interesting to implement an employee aptitude assessment test to make sure that individuals are keeping up with current news and current trends in the school sector.
Looking at how the implementation of the Common Core could affect some of our partners, it would be a shame of us to not better acknowledge these changes when fundraising. I do hope that there will be some changes to help employees get a better grasp on what we’re trying to accomplish in the community and how legislation either helps or hurts our positions.
In order to do so, I think that the implementation of an employee aptitude assessment would go a long way to making sure that employees were well-versed on certain education issues. I don’t think that anyone should be punished for a poor score, but it should definitely set an expectation.
