Amazon is the only online retailer that has a lot of competition. It is the number one online shopping site for almost everything you need.
Amazon lists are my favorite thing about it. You can quickly add items to your wish list while browsing the Amazon website.
You can save these items for future reference, but you can also make them available to your family members and friends when holidays or birthdays are near.
Collaborating on lists with others allows you to add and delete items. Let’s get started and let’s see how we can make these lists work for us.
Amazon accounts already include at least one default list. This is the Wish List. You don’t have to limit yourself to one list. You can have three or four. Amazon lists can be used to do many things.
You can make separate lists for different occasions. One list can be created for each of your children, your spouse, and one for your birthday.
There are no limits to how many lists you can create, so be creative. To save things I’m still researching or thinking about, I created a “Maybe List” in my Amazon account.
If I feel that a product on the list is worth my money, I add it to my wishlist. Products that don’t make it onto the list are removed.

How to share an Amazon Wish List
Follow these steps if you have a gift list.
- Go to Amazon.com/wishlist.
- Click on the link you wish to share.
- In the upper right corner of your screen, click Send the list to others.
- Copy the link and add the email addresses of the people you wish to share it with.
- To share a link with the list, click Send an email.
How to invite others to collaborate
Collaboration is one step beyond sharing. Collaborating on a list is a great way to both add and remove items.
This works well for families as parents and children can add items to each other’s shopping lists or add them to their child’s. This is how it works.
- Visit amazon.com/wishlist.
- Click on the link you wish to share.
- Click the Invite button to add your name to the list
- To open your email client, copy the link or click Invite by Email.
- Send the link to the person with whom you wish to collaborate.
Five Top Tips for Amazon Wish Lists
Here are my top tips for using Amazon Wish Lists. Although this list was originally a top five, it ended in six.
Take a look at the five tips I have provided below and leave your tips in the comments.
1. Use the Amazon Assistant
You can add more than Amazon products to your Amazon Assistant wish lists. This browser extension allows you to add almost anything to your Amazon wish lists, whether it’s an Etsy product or an eBay collectible.
Just install the add-on and then click it whenever you see something that you want to add to your Amazon list. It works even on mobile devices.
2. Make an Idea Wish List
Do you consider yourself an expert in your field of expertise? An Idea List might be right for you.
This list is for people who want to share their favorite products in a specific field. Anyone who has the link to your idea can purchase items for themselves.
This is your chance to show what you know and pay it forward.
3. Surprise!
An Amazon Wish List will automatically hide items you have purchased. This is more fun, right? at least for most people.
To see what is still on your list, click in the upper right-hand corner of the screen that says “Unpurchased”, and change it to say “Purchased”.
You can still see purchased items if you click the button “Spoil the Surprise”.
4. Modify Items in Your Wish List
Below each item on your list, you will find a link that states “Add comment, quantity, and priority.” Click this link to add a description to explain why you need the item.
You can also change the quantity you wish to receive and assign a priority to that item. This will let you know how urgent you want it to be!
5. Rearrange your Wish List
While the priority feature is great, sometimes it’s better to have your wish list arranged in the order you prefer.
Drag and drop an item to reorder it. To instantly move an item to your top, click on the link labeled “Top”.
6. Use Alexa
If you’re having a shopping moment while you’re washing dishes, and you have an Amazon Echo, Alexa can add the item to your list.
You can simply say “Alexa, please add toilet paper to your shopping list,” and you will be amazed at the usefulness of this virtual assistant!
Have a great shopping!!!
