How To Unclog A Toilet Without A Plunger?

Imagine using a toilet and clogging it while having no plunger. Nothing can be as embarrassing as this, especially if we are at someone else’s place. People who have been in such a situation know the horrific panic that sets on almost immediately. Different thoughts begin to rush through the brain almost immediately. Will the toilet stay clogged forever? Should I call an expert plumber Northern Beaches? Will the toilet start to overflow?

All in all, it is not a good feeling to be stuck in a clogged toilet without a plunger. But what if I say that there are ways to unclog a toilet without a plunger? Yes, you read that right, and the following are ways to unclog a toilet without a plunger.

Means To Unclog Your Toilet Without Any Tools

  • Hot Water: The first thing one can try is using hot water to unclog the toilet as it can melt the blockage. However, specifically, using hot water and not boiling water can result in cracking the ceramic of the toilet bowl. Which can just make things worse for everyone.

Therefore, we recommend getting a huge bucket of hot water and not boiling water and flushing it down the bowl. The movement of water along with the heat will be more than enough to unclog the toilet.

  • Dish Soap: Cannot find hot water? No problem, as dish soap is also a good alternative to hot water. The slippery soap helps lubricate the clogged pipe in the toilet.

Just half a cup of dish soap will do the trick in this situation. However, suppose there is not any dish soap available in and around. In that case, one can even chop a bar of regular soap into pieces and drop it in the toilet, as even these tiny bits of soap will make the bowl surface slippery enough for the blockage to slide down.

  • Drain Snake With A Wire Hanger: Before getting started with getting rid of the blockage, we must also understand what caused the toilet to clog. This is important because it has been observed in many cases that a severe blockage clogged the toilet, and there is no better way to get rid of it other than removing it manually.

A wire coat hanger is perfectly suited for this, but one will need to unravel it before pushing it into the clogged area. Then one cam simply keeps on poking the debris until it is broken down into smaller pieces and flows down the drain.

  • Toilet Brush: Even if there is no plunger to be found nearby, there will still be a toilet brush laying around. Therefore, in such a situation, one can grab the handle and start pushing the brush into the drain hole.

However, also remember not to get too excited and exert too much force as it can damage the toilet. This technique is a little gross, so we recommend saving this trick for desperate times only.

Final Thoughts

A clogged toilet can turn into a nightmare, so the best we can do is keep our toilets clean and get them checked by plumber Northern Beaches or plumber Inner West every once in a while. Therefore, next time you find yourself in such a situation, make the most of the tips mentioned above.
