High Schools in UAE recommend these Study Habits!

When it comes to study habits, everyone has their unique style. The habits you follow might not work in high school. So here we have gathered a list of techniques for high school students which can help in improving their study habits.

1. Find Distraction-Free Environment or Spot

It’s important to find a spot that has no distraction that can help you to focus. Schools in UAE have distraction-free classrooms that do not disturb students and huge libraries with pin-drop silence have always been a reliable place to study. If students enjoy studying in an open environment in nature then the campus has many nice studying spots.

If you are bored studying in one place you can try to switch environments as per your mood. Check which environment helps you stay focused, some may enjoy studying in public libraries or outdoor parks and recreational centres, so choose accordingly.

2. Light matters

Make sure the lighting in that environment is perfect which can preserve your eyesight and maximize your time and energy. A perfectly lit environment doesn’t strain your eyes or cause fatigue and it helps to keep your study session effective at any time of the day.

3. Make rules

Schools in UAE believe in establishing rules such as not to respond to phone calls or texts, and to keep a do not disturb sign board (in your home where you have study space or separate room) when you are studying. All these small effective habits will help you to stay focused.

4. Avoid Social media

Have you ever noticed, when you take a break of 5 minutes from study and try to use a social media app to check any text or reply to your friends? You lose a good 20-30 minutes. Yes, most of the students lose track of time when they are on social media as they keep on engaging with some new fresh feeds or content.

Make sure to turn off notifications or alerts while studying or you can put your phone on silent as it distracts your mind to check or reply instantly; which can be done later after you have completed your study.

As per Schools in UAE the best thing would be to stay away from your phone and keep it away from reach. If you think you can’t as there might be some emergency then you can make use of study breaks, check alerts and messages but make sure not to use social media. You can use apps that restrict the use of social media or websites for the period of time that you select.

5. Take short breaks

Continuous long hours of studying is not recommended unless you take frequent breaks in those hours as body and mind gets tired and research has shown that you can’t stay focused for a longer span of time and retain things. It is recommended to take 5 minutes of break after every 25 minutes of study as it helps in improving your concentration and productivity.

6. Take care of yourself

Once you have taken Admission in Indian High School, you will naturally start to take care of yourself and your body as health is given more priority in School in UAE. Try to walk, do 5 minutes of eye exercise or any 5 minutes of easy exercise that can help you to get out of your chair. Exercise improves blood circulation and makes you more alert and active. While working on assignments when working on a computer screen, remember to blink to save your sight. Refuel your body with the superfoods and nutrients that power your brain and don’t forget to have a good night’s sleep.

7. Record Lectures and then make notes

It’s always better to record lectures because it is difficult to prepare notes during lectures as teachers might say things at their speed and you might miss something. Sometimes you may not know what you have scribbled.  So record lectures so that you can get a better understanding of the lesson and then make notes whenever you are free.

This would be a more organised way of making notes and it will be easy to review during exams and you do not have to be bothered at the last minute.

Rewriting your lecture notes will do two things; you will understand the concepts properly and make notes accordingly, you will also study at the same time which means half of your job is done.

8. Create a study group

Joining or creating a study group is another way to motivate yourself, it will help you and others who are struggling with some topics. You may find new ways and learn in a better way.

9. Devote some time daily after admission

After you get Admission in Indian High School, you should start devoting some time to study from the beginning of the year; even when there are no exams as it will create a habit that will help you later. Also by the time you have exams, you might have mastered some topics already.

It is recommended to give 1 hour daily for study; if you find it difficult, start with 15 minutes and gradually increase the time as you feel comfortable. You will start noticing that you are enjoying the process and you are automatically dedicating more time.
