Find the Best Mattress for Your Needs!

There are many reasons you may be looking for a new mattress. Perhaps you don’t have enough space in your current bed, or maybe you’re hoping to upgrade to memory foam from your old innerspring mattress. It all comes down to personal preference, which is why Helix Sleep is proud to offer beds in all the standard mattress sizes. Whether you are looking for a California king bed for your large master bedroom or if you need a full-size bed for a guest room, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Mattress Dimensions

Before you buy a new bed, you should familiarize yourself with the standard mattress sizes

Crib mattresses are the smallest available mattresses, coming in at 28 inches wide by 53 inches long. They are designed to be used by infants and toddlers.

Twin Size Mattress – Twin beds are common for older children, and they measure 38 inches wide by 75 inches long. These are also known as single beds or single mattresses and are popular sizes for bunk beds.

Twin XL Mattresses – The Twin XL bed size is slightly longer than a standard twin, 38 inches wide by 80 inches long. This is common in dorm rooms or for taller individuals without a lot of space in their homes.

Full-Size Mattress – A full-size bed or double bed measures 53 inches wide by 75 inches long. It is often used by single adults who don’t need a ton of extra space, but it can fit two people if needed.

Full XL – A Full XL is a double mattress with a little extra length for taller single sleepers. The measurements are 53 inches wide by 80 inches long.

Queen Size Mattress – A queen-size bed is a larger mattress that measures 60 inches wide by 80 inches long. These are popular in guest bedrooms that have enough space to fit a larger bed. There are also Olympic Queens, which provide an extra 6 inches in length for more legroom.

King Size Mattress – A standard king-size bed comes in at 76 inches wide by 80 inches long. These provide ample sleeping space for couples who like to spread out. The standard king is also known as the Eastern king. King beds often utilize side-by-side box springs rather than one large one known as a split king.

California King Size Bed –  A California King mattress is slightly thinner but longer than a regular king. It measures 72 inches wide by 84 inches long. This is a popular mattress size for tall people whose legs hang off beds with king-size bed dimensions.

Alaskan King – This is not quite a standard bed and is difficult to find. It measures 108 inches by 108 inches, allowing you to fit an entire family. You’ll definitely need a large room size for one of these!
