The first step is to get registered in the medical marijuana program. To register, you must be diagnosed with at least one qualifying condition under the New York Compassionate Care Act of 2014. The list includes HIV/AIDS, cancer, Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS), Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other conditions often treated with opioids and hospice care.
