5 Things You Must Not Pack for Your Next Vacation-Home Exchange Holidays

It’s family vacation time, and you have booked the flight tickets — all geared up for an unforgettable time with your lady and kids. Home exchange, sometimes called house swapping or holiday exchanges are the perfect solution for travel-minded people who want to travel around the world and save money at the same time.

In case, anyone in your group has flying anxiety; then this must be addressed at the earliest, well before boarding the plane, otherwise, you are going to have a hard time dealing with them. Enrolling in an online course answers most of your flying concerns. Sit down and share your personal travel experience with them, answer their concerns with logical reasoning,

Now, it’s time to think about packing your bags, but things you must not pack are as important as what you do. Here are the five things you should avoid for your upcoming trip.

#1. No Expensive Items

Don’t tag along with your diamond earrings, an antique piece, rubies, Picasso painting, or football signed by Ronaldo. In simple words, don’t pack valuables or anything you’d hate to lose. You simply can’t count on the airline to cover your losses.

Moreover, most airlines don’t offer insurance on valuable stuff in bags. If you want to bring diamond earrings or anything else, keep it by yourself and we’ll help you find properties in your desired location and arrange your perfect exchange.

#2. Alcohol

While bringing a bottle of wine or champagne for your host or hostess is a good gesture, if you pack it for air travel, then it will be confiscated.

#3. Excess Cards and Cash

Never travel with too many cards and hard cash; they can get lost or stolen. As a rule of thumb, just keep two cards, one for actual use, and the second one as a backup. For cash, keep it limited, as ATMs are available everywhere.

You must record the card number, and keep the information somewhere else apart from your wallet, also make sure a trusted friend or relative back home knows the numbers. This way, it will be a lot easier to report the stolen card and get a replacement.

Finally, never flash your plastic money everywhere, as it invites thieves and scammers around you like bees on honey.

#4. Items With No Labels

The airline and airport security have a dedicated lost & found department filled with so much stuff that it is difficult to reunite their owners because they have no labels, no IDs, and nothing reveals the owner’s details.

Tape or glue temporary labels on every item, including your contact details. Since the labels can easily be reputed or torn off, it is best to click a few pictures with the serial number of the product if possible to show at the airport security (in case it is misplaced).

#5. Excessive Clothing

Unless you are a Hollywood star, nobody cares what you wear when you are on a vacation. So, don’t feel shy to repeat an outfit and pack light.

Avoid brand new or never-worn clothes, as you don’t know if they are comfortable. Stick with outfits in which you feel comfortable and confident.

Focus more on sightseeing, and little on your fashion. We offer two types of home exchanges allowing you unlimited travel at affordable prices

So, when you know the things not to pack, get out there and have a wonderful family time. By packing light, you can also save money, instead of four carry-on bags, have just two, and save up more on baggage costs for most domestic and international trips.
